The eighth former Settler in the organzation's history found himself on a professional roster as Chris Stewart, a left-handed pitcher from Marietta College, made the leap to pro ball when he signed with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League on July 22nd. Stewart threw for the Granville Settlers in 2006, appearing ten times in 16.1 innings. He becomes the third Settler from the original squad to make a professional team.
